COVID-19 is now a frequent topic of disinformation for actors hoping to exploit the current crisis to stoke anxiety and division within societies, deflect blame away from irresponsible actors, and erode public confidence in democratic institutions. The Taiwan Fact-check Center is working with Facebook to debunk disinformation and shut down accounts dedicated to disseminating false narratives. As part of AIT’s ongoing efforts to support U.S.-Taiwan cooperation on preventing the spread of COVID-19, we are happy to introduce a Facebook series entitled "COVID-19: Just the Facts". We know that repeating disinformation only helps to spread rumors (learn more here: https://bit.ly/3btPyKb), so we will be offering true and practical information on the topics the Taiwan Fact-check Center has identified as the most frequent subjects of disinformation. Stay tuned for our first COVID-19: Just the Facts post later today!
